  The film is the long-awaited reawakening of the franchise after a decade-long sleep. The Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens plot will be set 30 years after the Battle of Endor and the events portrayed in Return of the Jedi. Fans will enjoy seeing the return of some of the original characters (having aged, of course) and will be introduced to new leading roles. This is the first under the Walt Disney Co. umbrella and will be the start of a new trilogy.
