The Cakemaker is a complex look at forbidden romance and healing after loss. Thomas, a German baker, is having an affair with an Israeli married man who has frequent business visits in Berlin. When the man dies in a car crashin Israel, Thomas travels to Jerusalem looking for answers regarding his death. Under a secret identity, he infiltrates the life of his lover's newly widowed wife. Finding himself involved in her life in a way far beyond his anticipation, he begins to stretch his lie to a point of no return.
