Bolles Building
3 West Tioga Street ca. 1840
This is the oldest commercial building featured on the tour and was originally a drug store and grocery store owned by Dr. A. H. Bolles at what was then the intersection of Tioga Street and Turnpike Road. The property that once surrounded it had a large frame house, barn and fruit trees. It was sold in the 1850s to Daniel Winchester, who conveyed it to attorney Daniel A. Bardwell in 1861. In 1929, dentist Walter Tewksbury moved his practice here from across the street, renting out the store fronts on the first floor. Its uses have also included residential and retail.
